Overview: Building Tomorrow's Leaders Through the Page
Discover how local leaders are using representation and history to cultivate a lifelong love for reading in St. Paulโs youth.
A St. Paul nonprofit is addressing low reading levels across the state with its Leaders are Readers program.
Through the Planting People Growing Justice organization, the program is committed to creating new pipelines to success by improving literacy rates and inspiring the next generation of leaders.
Families are invited to the gathering at the JK Movement, Jimmy Lee Recreation Center, on Saturday, Aug. 1, to discover diverse books that help children celebrate their identities while learning about cultures, communities and experiences.
Guest speakers Dr. Artika Tyner and Felix Appiah will share the story of Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first prime minister.
