Overview: Empowering Local Commerce at Open Streets West Broadway
Local entrepreneurs, food vendors, and artists are invited to showcase their work to thousands of visitors from across Minnesota while building neighborhood wealth.
Community organizers are asking vendors to apply to this year’s Open Streets West Broadway in North Minneapolis. The 10-block festival reflects the heart and spirit of the North Minneapolis community.
Organizers say the event allows vendors to pop up, showcase their goods and sell their services at an event bringing in people from all across the state.
“A lot of our vendors have said that they were basically sold out by 3:00 in the afternoon and the event goes towards 5:00pm. So that is a good example of what we’re trying to do here,” said Kristel Porter, Open Streets executive director at last year’s event.
From food, youth, or artists, there are 13 vendor options to choose from, including free options.
Open Streets takes place on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
