Digital Publisher

In this role, available in both full-time and part-time capacities, you will manage the day-to-day publishing of content across our digital platforms, from formatting and uploading polished stories to our website to managing the publication schedule and ensuring our digital presence remains sharp, accurate and deeply engaging.

$40,000+ salary based upon experience.

Position Requirements

  • Knowledge of the African American community in the Twin Cities.
  • Experience with digital publishing, content management, or web production.
  • Sharp eye for detail, formatting and accuracy when preparing content for publication.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a publication calendar and keep content flowing on schedule.
  • Self-directed and resourceful โ€” comfortable creating and improving your own processes without step-by-step daily direction.
  • trong communication and coordination skills to work with writers, contributors and other departments.
  • Proficiency with Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress for uploading, formatting and scheduling web articles. Basic photo editing and graphic creation skills for web and social use.
  • Digital newsletter curation and scheduling experience in systems like MailChimp or Active Campaign.
  • Basic SEO/AEO/GEO Knowledge: Familiarity with optimizing headlines, metadata and copy for search engines and AI-driven answer/discovery tools.

What Will Help You Stand Out

  • Prior experience working within community-focused media or multicultural publications.
  • Graphics creation skills beyond the basics โ€” able to design engaging visuals for web and social.
  • Managing social media channels.
  • Basic video editing or production experience.
