Christine worked for Control Data until her retirement and later worked with children through the YWCA and her daughter Diane’s daycare. Her love for children extended far beyond her own family, and “Nana” became a name used by many whose lives she touched.

Faith was the foundation of Christine’s life. Over the years, she served at Gospel Temple, Peace Tabernacle, and Resurrection Temple in numerous roles, including secretary, treasurer, deaconess, choir member, and her beloved role as a Sunday School teacher. She loved God’s Word and was never shy about sharing her faith, wisdom, or advice.

Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; sons, Dwight and Curtis; grandson, Quest Mazique Sr.; her parents; brother, Squire Clemons Jr.; and daughters-in-law, Nina Clemons and Jacqueline Thomas.

She is survived by her sister, Athel Clemons Davis; children, A. Demetrius Clemons (Elsie), Clyde Thomas, Marsha Mazique, and Diane Cotton; daughter-in-law, Susan Thomas; and generations of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and others who lovingly knew her as Nana.

Christine leaves a legacy of faith, perseverance, service, family, and a life lived with conviction.

Celebration of Life: Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Battle Temple (formerly Gospel Temple), 247 Grotto St. N., St. Paul. Visitation at 10:00 am.
