Believe it or not, the Great Minnesota Get-Together is upon us again! From Thursday, Aug. 25 through Labor Day, Sept. 5, featuring dozens of new attractions, exhibits, entertainment and more.

Thirty-two new foods will make their debut this year, including Gumbo Frites, Candied Bacon Donut Siders, Barbecued Shrimp Taco, and Cajun Peel-N-Eat Shrimp, to name a few.
The State Fair Grandstand is home to 11 nights of big-name entertainment from Alabama to G-Easy, Charlie Wilson and Fantasia; a nightly fireworks spectacular follows each grandstand show, weather permitting.
As the MSR reported in an earlier edition, the State Fair honors Minnesota’s own Prince with Unite in Purple, Friday, Aug. 26 from 5 pm to close. Everyone who attends is encouraged to wear purple and enjoy Prince music, tributes, purple lighting on rides and buildings, fireworks and other surprises.
The State Fair offers special admission discounts on six of its 12 days with Thrifty Thursday, Seniors & Kids Days, Military Appreciation Day and Read & Ride Day. Many vendors throughout the fairgrounds offer special savings on these deal days.
Visit mnstatefair.org for information about new attractions, discounts and deals and transportation options.
