Fresh off the heels of its January health fair, Sister Spokesman will continue its focus on wellness in February by curating an afternoon centered on self-care and love. With the understanding that “You cannot pour from an empty cup,” as the old adage goes, the “Love Thyself: Self-Care 101” event on Feb. 1 aims to equip attendees with simple tools and strategies for self-empowered living.
Co-headlining the event will be two of the Twin Cities’ most innovative and engaging healing experts: DejaJoelle and Dr. Joi Lewis.
DejaJoelle is a healer, artist, dancer, and facilitator who specializes in sharing her hard-fought lessons in self-love and care through dance, affirmations, and other practices. She is the founder of BLAQ Dance Aesthetic & BLAQ Love Technique.
Back by popular demand is Dr. Lewis, a life coach, self-care expert, and author of the book “Healing, The Act of Radical Self-Care.” She thrilled attendees last year with straightforward and humorous insight into caring for oneself.
The afternoon also includes networking, shopping at a vendor market, music from KMOJ’s Q Bear, games and prizes and more.
“Love Thyself: Self-Care 101” takes place Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020 from 12-4 pm at LifeSource, 2225 West River Rd. N. in Minneapolis. For more info, visit Sister Spokesman/Facebook.
