Hennepin County is now accepting applications from small businesses that have been negatively impacted economically by the pandemic as a part of Small Business Relief.

Deadline

Grant applications are available now through Thursday, January 14, 2021 at noon to eligible small businesses that have been financially harmed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Available funding

A total of $24.6 million in relief funding will be available. This funding was given to Hennepin County by the State of Minnesota to support businesses and nonprofits impacted by the pandemic and related state restrictions. Since May 2020, Hennepin County approved $44.75 million in small business relief grants through four application rounds.

Grant amounts

Eligible businesses and nonprofits can apply for grant amounts as follows:

  • Sole proprietors with a physical commercial location and no W-2 employees: $10,000
  • Home-based businesses with W-2 employees: $10,000
  • Organizations with a commercial location and W-2 employees, other than an owner: $15,000

Businesses that received a previous small business relief grant from Hennepin County are eligible to apply for additional funding this round. However, priority will be given to first time applicants.
