
Sophomore quarterback Matt McDonald rushed for two touchdowns Bowling Green and kicker Nate Needham added the extra point to lead Bowling Green University to a 14-10 upset on the University of Minnesota in a non-conference collegiate football game last Saturday afternoon at Huntington Bank Stadium.
The setback spoiled the Gophers’ homecoming.
Minnesota’s scoring came courtesy of kicker Matthew Trickett’s 36-yard field goal and extra point kick along with running back Cole Kramer’s 19-yard touchdown run.
Running back Trey Potts rushed for 147 yards on 27 carries to lead the Gophers.
The loss ends Minnesota’s 21 game non-conference winning streak.
