North Minneapolis residents seeking access to fresh, nutritious food now have a new resourceโ€”a monthly free community salad bar. In partnership with the Metro Food Justice Network (MFJN) and other local organizations, Natural Me Apothecary is spearheading this initiative to combat food insecurity and promote healthy eating.

A Fresh Approach to Food Access

The goal of the free community salad bar is twofold: to improve access to fresh, healthy food while educating community members on where to find affordable, nutritious options in North Minneapolis. Each month, attendees will have the opportunity to build their own salads with a variety of locally grown and non-local produce, topped with a homemade vinaigrette and paired with a healthy tea blend to take home.

All salads will be served to-go, ensuring accessibility for busy individuals and families. As food is available on a first-come, first-served basis, community members are encouraged to arrive early to participate.

A Collaborative Effort

This initiative is made possible through collaboration with key partners dedicated to food justice and community well-being. Organizations such as Karbon Based Farms, The Peoples’ Market MPLS, Garrett Farm, Appetite for Change, Big River Farms, Co-op Partners, Northside Green Zones, and MFJN are contributing resources, produce, and expertise to ensure the success of the program.

How to Participate

To help organizers prepare for each event, community members are encouraged to register in advance using the following form: Registration Form. While registration is not required for participation, it will assist in planning and ensuring enough food is available for all attendees.

By working together, Natural Me Apothecary, MFJN, and local partners aim to build a stronger, healthier communityโ€”one salad at a time. For more information, stay tuned for updates from Natural Me Apothecary and its partners.
