Weโ€™re excited to share the latest episode of Blacklight on Sports, now available on the Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder’s website!

This week, we feature Onika Nicole Craven, a dynamic motivational speaker, actress, writer, and freelance photographer based in the metro area. Onika is also an educator at Justice Page School in Minneapolis and the co-founder of the non-profit community organization, Onikaโ€™s Angels, formed in response to the tragic events following George Floydโ€™s murder.

Before earning her degree from the University of Minnesota Morris, Onika was a star player for the girls’ basketball team at Minneapolis Washburn, graduating in 1990. She has also served as the Commissioner of the Clyde Turner Basketball Camps and was recently inducted into the Rainey River Community College Hall of Fame.

Dr. Mitchell Palmer McDonald is a contributing columnist at the Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder.
