In this episode of Blacklight On Sports, hosts Charles Hallman and Dr. Mitchell Palmer McDonald, Ed.D. sit down with Brianna Edwards, a powerhouse in Minnesotaโ€™s basketball community.

A proud graduate of North Community High School, Brianna made her mark on the court before continuing her career at Providence College from 2009 to 2013. She went on to play professionally before returning homeโ€”this time as the head coach of the girls basketball team at North High, where her journey began.

But Briannaโ€™s influence doesnโ€™t stop at coaching. Sheโ€™s the founder of Trust The Process Consulting, a leadership development company focused on helping athletes build confidence, discipline, and purpose that extends beyond the game. Whether sheโ€™s leading a team or facilitating workshops, her mission is clear: to equip young people with tools to succeed in sport and life.

In this conversation, Brianna opens up about:

  • What it means to come full circle at North High
  • Why leadership development is essential in youth sports
  • How she balances coaching, consulting, and speaking
  • The power of mentorship and returning to your roots

This is more than a sports storyโ€”itโ€™s a story of purpose, perseverance, and passing the torch.
