The overall voter turnout was about 22.7 percent, the highest percentage since 1994, according to Steve Simon, Minnesota Secretary of State. More than 100,000 people either voted early or submitted absentee ballots, helping make the 902,119 statewide votes the most in a primary since 1982. Why I’m running as a write-in candidate for the 5th Congressional District
The way he handled the filing on June 5th—on the last day of filing—was unfair to the people of the 5th Congressional District.
The 5th District deserves the best candidate possible for the job and, right now, I don’t see where Omar, Jamal Abdulahi, Margaret Kelliher, or Patricia Torres Ray are the best options. Omar, for one, has been invisible as a State Representative. Let her first show her mettle in the job she was elected to in 2016.
